Polly Maccini, a Dexter Township artist, uses a unique technique called encaustic painting, which involves beeswax from her honeybees, pigments, and a torch to create her art. Inspired by Michigan's natural beauty and her love for pollinators, her work often features local landscapes, such as the Mackinac Bridge and Petoskey Stones. Polly’s passion for art, which she attributes to her geologist and artist father, is reflected in her vibrant, textured paintings, and she donates part of her sales to pollinator causes​.
